Xmas edition: Brie and cranberry sandwich Mmmm. I liked this. I’m not a fan of overly strong, aging cheese (like blue cheese or the type of goat cheese that’s so strong it makes you feel like you’re being plunged headfirst into a live goat), but I also hate cheeses that are too mild to taste. The brie in this sandwich was (almost) just right. But clearly, it’s all about personal taste. I’m no cheese expert, so I don’t actually know whether it’s good brie or not, or whether it’s even real brie…

I’m no cheese expert, so I don’t actually know whether it’s good brie or not, or whether it’s even real brie… But hey – it’s just a sandwich, neither made to look like a “gourmet” cheese-sandwich nor priced as one, at $24.
Take a big bite out of this one. I wasn’t let down by the crunch of pine nuts that contrasted with the chewiness of the cheese, and the wheaty taste of the bread that complimented the cheesiness and nuttiness BUT something did lack – the cranberry sauce. No one would appreciate too much sweetness overpowering the mélange of tastes I just described, but on the other hand, there was just too little of it for it to even be a part of the mélange.
