Served in a bamboo basket, this freshly made Xiao Long Bao is definitely value for money. The pork filling inside the xiao long bao was well marinated and flavourful. The broth was a tad on the sweet side though. The way to eat xiaolongbao is to make a small hole on the skin and let the broth flow out to the spoon. By dipping it on vinegar, it makes the taste more flavourful.

The right way to make pan fried pork bun is to deep fry them in a covered pan with an inch of oil such that the bottom is deep fried while the top is steamed. It is such a difficult process that most other places simply steam the Bao first and give them a cursory sizzle over a pan before serving. The texture of these buns is soft and fluffy with a crispy bottom. I love the crispiness that the lightly-charred base added to the bun which was a great addition of texture to the skin. As for the meat, it was actually pretty much like the xiao long bao filling, as moist and tasty and juicy.
