Dinner. Seated by the window. Ordered the set menu ($1488 pp.) Here’s what we had. Appetizers- walnuts etc.Croissant with Xo sauce on a bed of uncooked green beans. Very filling. Green beans obviously were for decoration purpose; PickyEater was very wary of not taking up any by mistake for fear of cracking a tooth. Was still halfway through my croissant when server came with the next course; saw that I wasn’t done and put it down anyway on the table. Were we really in such a hurry???White Asparag

Appetizers- walnuts etc.
Croissant with Xo sauce on a bed of uncooked green beans. Very filling. Green beans obviously were for decoration purpose; PickyEater was very wary of not taking up any by mistake for fear of cracking a tooth.
Was still halfway through my croissant when server came with the next course; saw that I wasn’t done and put it down anyway on the table. Were we really in such a hurry???
White Asparagus and Razor Claims Marinated with sake. Very bitter, prob cos of the alcohol.
Deep fried Pumpkin with salty egg yolk.
Double Boiled Soup with a big piece of Sea Cucumber, Matsutake Mushrooms etc. Good. PickyEater complained it wasn’t hot enough but I it just the right temperature for me.
Deep-Fried Fish Maw with ikura and cauliflower bits in a creamy “Caviar Champagne” Sauce. Quite a lot of deep fried dishes….
Steamed Groupe Fillet sandwiched with slices of mushrooms and ham. Mushrooms were much too sweet- too much sugar.
Deep fried Crispy Pigeon, cut into 3 pieces, on a bed of garlic.
Poached choy sum in Chicken Broth, topped with Yunnan Ham which again, was too sweet.
Fried Rice with Pork Lard. Loved it- so crispy. But too oily to finish all.
Tea Pudding. Topped with pistachio bits and Chocolate Truffle.
In summary: nice deco but alas didn’t have the service to match: servers didn’t replace cutlery and dirty plates in between courses; didn’t bother to explain what was being served etc.
