Oolaa is a Sheung Wan stalwart. You know you could never go wrong with a meal here, be it brunch, lunch or dinner! We eat there so much it's almost like a canteen to us. One of the best things about Oolaa is brunch. They can do anything for you. They can make a main out of a bunch of sides. Eggs done any way, sweet potato, sausages, anything brunchy you can possibly want. My favourite is the savory beef mince without toast, with spinach and sweet potatoe mash and two poached eggs on the side. Th

My favourite is the savory beef mince without toast, with spinach and sweet potatoe mash and two poached eggs on the side. That mince is scrumptious, it's like eating bolognese sauce neat (honestly that tastes better than it sounds!) It's a match made in heaven with runny egg yolks and the sweetness of the sweet potato mash!
My other fave is the pancakes. Soft, fluffy, light. Comes with vanilla ice cream, strawberry jam and maple syrup. Heaven is this plate on earth.
Oolaa every weekend, Sat brunch. It's why I work out ;)
One thing - service has become spotty of late. There used to be a few wait staff who could recite all our complicated asks without pen and paper. Now it's replaced by an army of trainees who lack confidence and basic common sense. I was scrubbing a plate that had a stain on it in front of a waitress. She had the sense to say "sorry" but shouldn't she bring me a new plate?
