No Valentine's day dinner

Reserved at Latata 2 weeks ago for Valentine's Day. Special place for me and my lady friend since we are regulars there and wished to go to a familiar place and primarily for the French oyster (highlight of the meal). The person taking the order simply asked for name. We asked repeatedly if any further information was required. And the person assured us no. Reserved at Latata 2 weeks ago for Valentine's Day. Special place for me and my lady friend since we are regulars there and wished to go to a familiar place and primarily for the French oyster (highlight of the meal). The person taking the order simply asked for name. We asked repeatedly if any further information was required. And the person assured us no. On Valentine's Day, called up to make sure that the time was right since we had reserved two weeks ago. Seems like within the two weeks they had a change in policy and needed a deposit. They claimed that they had notified me through phone calls. Long story short, our reservation was cancelled on Valentine's Day despite having the reservation confirmed and assured by them no further steps needed to be taken. And I understand that while Valentine's Day is a great day to make money, think there's a need for meaning what you say and not add clause later as and when you feel like it. No great loss though. Had a GREAT buffet dinner at Excelsior Hotel. Extremely fresh oysters from 4 continents and seafood as well as other delicacies!!! AND what made it all special was the warm service from the servers of the oysters taking the time to introduce the different varieties of oysters from each continent. Guess I will know where to get my next oyster fix from now on!!!
