Belated bday dinner celebration with DrK. Made reservation many weeks in advance but was shown to a tiny table right next to the service counter. Looked around and noted that all other 2-ppl diners were seated at bigger tables. Restaurant was far from full, so requested to change. Manager said he would look into it, then disappeared. After a significant delay, we were finally moved to a sofa seat.Comprehensive wine list. Ordered a bottle of bubbles. Server came with the bread and gave us 2 rolls

Server came with the bread and gave us 2 rolls each. I was nearly done with both of mine when server reappeared with a plate of ham, presumably to go with the bread.

Fusilli with Taleggio Cheese, cooked table-side in a wheel of [Parmigiano Reggiano?]
Shavings of Black Truffle on top.
Taleggio usually tastes mild and creamy so the dish tasted rather bland, overall.

Slow Cooked Short Rib and Mashed Potato, supposedly with BBQ Sauce. Never tasted anything so tasteless before. Even worried for a second whether I caught covid again.
