It was also not explained until four of our party had ordered that there was a minimum drinks requirement. This was not obvious during the order process and would be more understandable if it had been busy. The implication seemed to be that we had to order another drink or one of our party had to leave, which seemed ridiculous when there were only a handful of other customers besides ourselves.
The coffee was quite nice, well-rounded flavour and well-presented, but the pricing seemed unusual (it cost more for a single shot Americano than a double).
Overall, it seemed to me that Hazel & Hershey has done a lot right, but maybe needs to relax its policy on minimum orders during quiet periods. An exclusive atmosphere is well and good if you like that, but I quite like my coffees to feel a bit more friendly. More than anything, this is down to the overall business model and I won’t be rushing back.
