We reserved a table for 5 with no waiting time to be seated and got quite detailedly recommended of their set dinners. But we realized it is $40-100 more expensive to order a set dinner than the main dish on it's own. $40 is explainable but how come the additional amount has a price range if the same soup of the day, same salad & same coffee or tea cost the same anyways? So we ordered 4 mains and 1 set (because the Steak Wellington was not on the main menu), a Caeser salad and a bottle of white fr

But we realized it is $40-100 more expensive to order a set dinner than the main dish on it's own. $40 is explainable but how come the additional amount has a price range if the same soup of the day, same salad & same coffee or tea cost the same anyways?

So we ordered 4 mains and 1 set (because the Steak Wellington was not on the main menu), a Caeser salad and a bottle of white from the NZ. The pumpkin soup & the salad came with the set were quite lovely, so as the Caeser salad with the garlic bread & parma ham in it.

The 4 main dishes were: King prawn risotto with lobster sauce, Carbonara, Smoked salmon angel hair in cream sauce, Mussels linguine.

The king prawn risotto's rice I think it's adjusted to Asian taste (the middle is also soft unlike traditional Italian risotto), the lobster sauce (yes! lobster sauce) was nicely braised into the rice and although the king prawns x 2 were not very much seasoned but they were fresh.

As you can already guess, we order 3 white pasta out of 3. Surprisingly, they didn't taste quite the same because there were not much taste, the sauce were waaaaay too lightly seasoned. To my knowledge of Carbonara, it's sauce contains loads of cream, shallot fragranced bacons and lots of egg yokes to make it what it is but we were so disappointed
about the Carbonara. The Salmon angel hair was a little better because of the capsicum infused into the cream a bit and we could taste some salt (finally!). So we were looking forward to the mussel linguine that would keep bringing the level back to normal. Mmm...not really. The sauce was even more blend without any appearance of white wine which a mussel dish should have. (but strangely, we all tasted white wine in the carbonara instead?!
maybe they mixed it up?!?)
Anyway, my suggestion is not to have their pasta......

The only suggestion is the Steak Wellington (pastry wrapped steak + foi gras + mushroom sauce) That's quite a journey of tastes.
The white wine was okay but I'm sure the $298 bottle costs $100 in supermarkets. Oh well.

Conclusion, the atmosphere is nice for drinks but then there are loads around the same area.
Foodwise, room for improvement.
