A friend of mine used to be a regular when they were still called "Green Cottage", went there once or twice before, while the foods were still ok, really enjoyed their “Butter sauce chicken wings”, even though a fair amount of MSG was added, but then, its difficult to find local restaurants who don’t use them, especial nowadays. Now that they moved to this new location and changed the restaurant name to 越南蔡, the foods has changed quiet dramatically. My wife and I went there on a Saturday early evening, didn’t have to wait as we walked in, place seems empty, maybe its still early at the time. Without much thought, we ordered their chicken wings, 2 raw beef pho and the morning glory. The pho came shortly after, but not what I had in mind. The soup was just warm and hardly had any taste, I am not an expert, but I know the soup is the soul for the pho. The whole sensation was like eating from a bowl of beef stock favored soup with MSG, my wife certainly wasn’t happy about it, supposing they ran out of their soup early and didn’t have time to prepare new one. Anyway, we were looking forward to their chicken wings, and so we did, the morning glory then came next; it was fair, nothing interesting and nothing too disappointing neither. When finally, here comes the chicken wings, and we certainly weren’t impress with it. First, it looked like it just came out from an oil bath, the whole plate was soaked in oil, and there were hardly any taste of butter and garlic. Well, that’s when we thought it was time for the bill.
Frankly speaking, if the restaurant do bother read from this site, they really need to give some thought into what they serve. Because it will be hard for the customers find reason to come back.
