Perhaps this restaurant should consider focusing on making desserts rather than trying too hard to serve Vietnamese food in vain. We ordered 小食併盤 and they are not crispy at all.( oddly, they arrived after 2 main dishes) The 軟殼蟹 is quite nice but the rest is just so-so. i bet i can buy the 串燒雞 from Apita or Jesco with a quarter of the price.
扎肉豬頸肉河內炒米粉 and 生牛肉湯河are nothing exceptional but overpriced. I have to say 火車頭 serves way better noodles than they do.
The dessert "French Kiss" is quite nice but of course, overpriced." French Kiss" is simply raspberry sorbet on piece of biscuits mixed with more ice-cream. Special, as not being seen before, but it doesn't mean it worth the money. With $58, i can get the nice macaroon and cake from Paul Lafayat, Zoe cake in Zoe, two mango napoleon from mimosa or opera from Tony.... but not siting in a nicely decorated noisy CANTEEN like Rice Paper.
Not to mention the food, the restaurant has now become A CANTEEN for travel tours. A group of 30 tourists were talking loudly at the time my friend and i arrived, no wonder everyone said Rice Paper is always fully packed.
However, the waiters are nice and helpful. Water was filled quickly and the food were served in a speedy way. Everyone seemed to be extremely busy and i could see that the bowls and dishes are really heavy...
