Seeing the ratings of Saizeriya in different branches around Hong Kong, I am amazed a lot of people find the food here 'good'. When you say good, do you actually mean affordable? Cheap? I went to the Saizeriya chain in Mei Foo with my mother and it was appaling. I actually thought it was an Italian chain (LOL, Brand origin confusion at its finest) but the concept actually started in Japan and now has branches around Asia and even Australia. Yes, it's cheap but everything we ordered (4-cheese piz
Yes, it's cheap but everything we ordered (4-cheese pizza, vongole pasta with clams, steak) were bland, lousy, watered down and the steak was tough as nails! We even decided to order one of their desserts - I cannot remember which one because it was easily forgettable. It seemed as if it was just stored in the freezer for days, and then taken out and put into a plate and served to us.
The only cool thing was the self-service drink station. But even then, the lemon tea was too sweet, and the ice tray was not properly closed.
I guess everyone has different standards but there are way better places to have a cheap meal around Mei Foo. Even Subway or Genki Sushi is better than this place.
All in all, I am glad I tried this place, because I now know better than to ever return.
