Came here for dinner with a friend, made a reservation which was honored. I suggest making a reservation considering this restaurant is pretty packed and generally has a long queue if you don't. Crispy skin chicken with guava/apple sauce: Ordered it since it was recommended and it seemed like an interesting twist with the fruit sauce. The chicken came out very tasty with the skin at perfect level of crispiness. On the side were slices of apples drizzled in the fruit sauce. Also there was a little dish of the fruit sauce for dipping. I actually didn't care much for the fruit sauce - it wasn't super fruity, just slightly and it did taste okay with the chicken, but I felt for such a classic Cantonese dish, it didn't need any trendy apple/guava fusion twist.
Mixed vegetables in clay pot: I'd recommend this since it came with such a wide array of vegetables and I am one who likes variety. It included few sorts of mushrooms, bok choi, the choi sum, cabbage, and even a good helping of vermicilli noodles. This was all stewed in a shrimpy broth (shrimpy because there were also some dried shrimp thrown in for a nice flavor). At first this didn't look that appetizing, just looked like vegetable mush in a sense, but it was surpisingly very tasty, like home-cooked.
Chung's pork & vegetable dumplings: These were boring and very ordinary, nothing special compared to the frozen ones you boil. I was pretty disappointed - was hoping it'd be something special that made it stand out. Came with an oily chili sauce.
Service: It was hard waving down a waiter, so service wasn't particularly good. Also I ordered an extra rice which never came and had to remind them... And in the end, they sorta asked me to pay the bill, which I find to be pretty rude since I felt rushed in a sense.
Decor: The decor is nice here, not over the top, but had nice spacious seating for the booths with pillows.
Sizing it up: The food quality on average was pretty good and i'd have to try more dishes to get a more wholesome gauge. I do like the more spacious seating and fair priced and extensive menu. Service needs to be improved, more waiters per area would definitely help.
