It was my first time to visit this covet Starbucks in Mong kok. On the second floor of an old building midst a busy Friday afternoon of Mong kok, this Starbucks is decorated in the style of old Hong Kong. The floors are old-fashioned tiles, the walls are decorated with chinese writing and drawings. There are around 40 seats available, ranging from wooden vinyl chairs to 4 seated booths. It is quite suitable for a small group to meet for tea. This Starbucks is quite different from others in terms
This Starbucks is quite different from others in terms of the food you can order. There are red bean pineapple buns, brownies, cookies, meat pies, etc. Desserts are quite varied as well. Prices range from $15-$30.
I ordered the vegetable pie which is around $19. I waited for around 5 minutes for the pie to be heated but it turned out slightly burnt.
I forked into the pie without adding the ketcup at first. The pastry was parched and did not have the buttery scent that pastries should have. Instead, it was rather oily. The filling inside was as boring as the pastry. The broccoli, tomato and cheese were underseasoned. There wasn't any flavours to bind together.
Then I tried adding the ketchup, which added some flavour to the pie. Sadly, it still didn't make the pie taste better. It is a nice setting so I'd like to come back again. Hopefully other foods are better than this pie!
題外話/補充資料:
I went there again in December to try the Christmas special drink (I think it was hazelnut latte). I ordered the small which was around $29. The first few sips were quite nice as it was still hot. But as the latte became warm, the excessive amount of sugar became apparent. I couldn't finish the drink as it was far too sweet...
