There seems to be a recent craze for quality bakeries and patisseries in HK with many famous brands from overseas opening their outlets in HK. This one in K11 Musea is one of my favourites. I made a trip there whilst in TST and bought my usual dark rye bread ($40), made with just flour, dark rye, yeast and salt. It stated specifically at the bread counter that this bread was made without sugar and butter (so thoughtful!). Notwithstanding that there was no butter or sugar in the dough, the bread had risen beautifully, soft and airy, full of rich dark rye notes and was not dense to eat. For a bread lover like me, I find the quality of their bread far superior than many chain stores or even some “artisan” bakeries.
I was in the mood for more indulgence that day and went to their cake counter nearby and ordered a cappuccino ($44 for large) and a Mont Blanc cake ($58). With my bread receipt, I got 10% discount at the cake counter.
