Recently I just got addicted to croissants. My French friend told me he hadn't tried good croissants for some months of traveling until he visited Pret A Manger, which it ended months-long craving of decent croissants. I even did a research about croissants just to make use it originated from Austria but not France, while France, is actually the place which made it famous. Yes viva Austria! The plain butter croissants(14HKD) are one of the best I ever tried in Causeway Bay and Central IFC branch

The plain butter croissants(14HKD
) are one of the best I ever tried in Causeway Bay and Central IFC branches of Pret A Manger(Ready Made in French), much better than those of Simply Life. Simply Life's croissants are too dry and never buttery.
The butter croissants at Pret A Manger are warm, and I appreciate the dough core--the core is so full and round, with layers of melted butter slowly diffusing its flavor out right into my nose. It's ample and moist, really fresh! The surface is crispy and buttery. It is perfect eating alone--- I hate that coffee would cover its flavor and texture.
HOWEVER
I tried the TST Elements branch, but the croissant is not warm enough and the quality is lower. The quality consistency of the croissants seem to vary occasionally also.
The almond croissant(16HKD) has crunchy almond cream paste stuffing, and I think it's not that impressive.
