Came here as boyfriend and I were in the area and realized we hadn't been here in a while. We came here a year ago and I thought it was pretty good. Especially the oki buns. One year later, they now have branches in other areas of Hong Kong, including Mong Gok and Diamond Hill.

Antoshimo Cafe & Bakery is a cute and colorful restaurant that focuses on Okinawan cuisine. They also serves something called a oki bun which is a fried ball with some sort of filling and a mochi inside. I thought these were incredibly delicious the first time I came.  Menu is in English and Chinese with colorful photos.

We realized the sets have changed. Before the sets included a bento box meal, an oki bun, drink, sea grapes and Okinawan dessert of peanut tofu. The menu is now changed. We saw that they only offered three bento boxes that included an oki bun. The other versions you had to add money to get an Oki bun. The sets now no longer included a dessert and sea grapes.

Taco Rice Bento ($78). This didn't include an oki bun so one was added for an extra $18. The bento included taco rice, bitter gourd omelette, ryukya chicken wings, jimai soup and a little mazuku vinegar appetizer. The taco rice was ok and not great. Rice was a bit mushy. The omelette was a bit hard but had a generous amount of bitter gourd. The chicken wings were really dry and tough. We added $18 for an oki bun with taro filling. We couldn't finish it and so we took it home to reheat later. It reheated well as we followed the instructions of reheating for 2-3 seconds in the microwave and 5 minutes in the oven. The taro paste was very rich in taro.

Cod Roe Spaghetti Bento ($98). This included an oki bun and I chose black sesame with mochi. The bento also included cod roe spaghetti, fish fillet, jimai soup and a little mazuku vinegar appetizer. The spaghetti tasted pretty good and wasn't not soggy. Though I think I could have done with a bit more sauce as it became very dry after a while. The fish fillet was crispy but tasted a bit like the stuff you buy at the frozen food aisle at your local grocery store. The soup tasted sour and salty at the same time. They had bits of the peanut tofu in it along with the mazuku vinegar appetizer.

Should give you a look of the oki bun. It was  pretty big bun and really crunchy exterior.

The filling was packed with black sesame paste and there was chewy mochi in the center. It's really filling after you eat one.

Iced Green Tea Cream Soy Milk (additional $12 with set purchase).Chose this as the drink by upgrading from the regular drink. I liked it. Nice and cold though not a strong matcha taste. But decent enough.

Dinner came to $240 in total. They charge 10% service charge though you do pay at the cashier.

Overall, the food wasn't as good as last time. But the oki buns are still the best. Disappointed the menu sets changed with no more dessert and sea grapes. Sea grapes understandable as it's not exactly cheap. I think next time I'd return for just the oki buns.
