I've lived in Soho, Sheung Wan for the last 5 yrs and I've been coming to Oola for almost 3 years. It never seems to dissapoint me, after coming over 30 or so times, it's still the perfect place to eat lunch, have a coffee with a gf or have a relaxing meal with friends. Theres loads of seats to choose from with a choice of sitting at the chilled bar section or a more formal restaurant side. Though its always packed full of people Oolaa is still a place nice enough to hear each others conversatio
Prices are mid - ranged , but you really get good value for money as each portion is huge and they are very generous with the servings, the chef does a good job and each time I try something I'm always happy with it.
My Brunch Favourite - the breakfast Pizza, its literally a full breakfast on a pizza base, its delicious and filling and full of flavour. I was very happy I chose this for brunch !
My Dinner Favourite - this dish has got to be the "blue swimmer crab lasagne" for under $200 this creamy white sauce Lasagne is so delicious, they are generous with the crab meat and very generous with the portion size. Flavourful and seasoned to perfection , I usually get this at dinner time, and its never dissapointed me.
I had the Oolaa Chicken Burger last night and I am super happy with the portion size and the seasoning on the chicken. The best part is that I get to choose 2 toppings with Beetroot on the menu as one of the options. As a fellow aussie it is so hard to find a burger joint in hk that offers beetroot or pineapple. Oolaa had the beetroot but still waiting for a place that offers pineapple as well! Then I will be truly happy!
My husband got the half rack of ribs, and it is really good, full of meat( I say this coz I've been dissappointed in the past where I would order ribs and there was no meat on the bones) it was tender the meat fell right off the bone and the marinade was delicious and not overpowering or too sour. For just over $200 hkd the half rack was huge and worth every cent.
For those who like healthier alternatives, the salads also come in big portions and can easily be ordered as a main.
The only downfall I think are the drinks, the juices are over priced and you can tell it's not freshly squeezed and that it has been squeezed in the morning and left in the fridge all day.
The service could be a little better, everytime I go i feel like i'm waving my arms around for 10 mins before someone notices me, the waiters don't look up while they are cleaning or walking around and I feel they avoid serving at times.
The lunch Sets are really good value for around $150 + 10% service charge, you get a 3 course set lunch which includes 1 serving of buffet from the Salad bar + 1 main + 1 dessert + 1 drink.
In the salad bar buffet, you have a huge selection of salads and antipasto to choose from, however the bowl you get given is very small and you can only fill up once, the vietnamese rolls are not good but the rest of the salads are good.
I don't recommend to get the steak for the main , as mine was tough and the meat was like a slither... definately not a steak as they described in the menu. However my friend got the fish and she said she loved it and it looked good too!
The dessert I had the Rhubarb and Apple Crumble, it was delicious and definately will order that again next time.
I wanted to take photos but the place is too dark to take a good shot! You will just have to try it for yourself!

Lunch Set menus are great! $150 + service charge , you get 3 courses , all big portions and delicious.
Aussie Restaurant with aussie touches! Makes me feel back at home!
