I love Korean fried chicken. So, when this place opened, it boasted that they served chicken that was not fried but oven roasted. The restaurant originates from Korea and even has hilarious commercials of K-Pop girl band, Girls Generation fighting over their chicken. You really have to You Tube them. It's super popular in Korea, probably because oven roasted seems more healthy than fried.Boyfriend and I came here with a couple of friends and I had booked a table ahead of time. Lucky that I did a
Boyfriend and I came here with a couple of friends and I had booked a table ahead of time. Lucky that I did as it was busy and a line had already formed waiting for a table when we got there. And there was a line when we left. Due to popularity, we were informed by the Korean staff that there was a 90 minute time limit. Menu is in Chinese, English and Korean. There are plenty of pretty photos. Small bowls of pickled daikon are given as appetizers. They were ok. Not great as they weren't tart enough.
Place has indoor and outdoor seating. However, we were seated next to the neon sign. We had no idea about this and it was super hot. Tip is to not get a table next to the neon sign. You will sit there sweating throughout your entire time there.
To get any sort of service, each table has a black button. Press that to alert staff. Don't wave frantically. They will tell you to just press the button. Blue Orangeade ($50). A couple of my friends ordered beer but I wanted this. Tasted like 7-11 Fanta Slurpee except it cost 5 times as much. This was great. I loved it even though I could buy 5 Slurpees for this price. Egg Mari ($160). This was a rolled egg with spam and cucumber in it. It smelled like ketchup as there was so much of it. It was ok. A bit expensive for rolled egg when a whole chicken costs the same. Black Pepper Chicken ($168). This black looking specimen is actually all black pepper. This was so spicy, I couldn't breath. Even my friends and boyfriend who could eat spicy thought it was pretty spicy. Original Chicken ($148). This was the original oven roasted chicken. The skin was crispy. The meat was moist. It was ok. There isn't much flavor and you are to use the dipping sauces. The one of the left tasted like soysauce and the one on the right tasted like thousannd island. It was ok. It was more healthy than fried chicken even though fried chicken tasted much better. I would probably return again but with girls who want something healthier than fried chicken.
