Wanted to try out this restaurant for sometimes as it boasts creative fusion cooking. Prices are above average, so I went on a special occasion – Valentine’s Day. The night started with a long wait for a pre-booked table due to the end-to-end booking to maximize turnover. We requested a booth but was given a table at the thoroughfare bottleneck. The night started with a long wait for a pre-booked table due to the end-to-end booking to maximize turnover. We requested a booth but was given a table at the thoroughfare bottleneck. I had mussels dropped on me, but the waitress was too frazzle to notice. The speaker was blaring music directly above our heads. Another couple on bar tables overlooked us right above my head. They noted to move us, and Brian (the friendly head waiter) topped up our glasses all evening to keep us happy. We were eventually moved an hour later after our many repeated requests.
The very loud and tightly packed atmosphere just didn’t fit a romantic evening, not to mention the supposedly high culinary experience. The food was cold or lukewarm at best. Fried dishes had lost their crispiness. Taste and freshness of the seafood are fine but not matching the price point. It is a crowded bar for tapas, certainly not worth $680 per person on the food alone.
At the end, I ordered a latte but was served a black coffee. I gave up and asked for sugar and cream, which never came. Brian tried hard, but it was a disastrous front of house, and the food was just mediocre.
