8.8.2015 (Saturday)We were just enjoying the Hong Kong skyline before the music played by Isola caught our attention. I was instantly captivated by the dim purple lighting and decor and as soon as I saw "Isola" on the menu, I was like I need to try this (I've heard of this restaurant a few times now).We were seated almost swiftly, the restaurant wasn't too crowded, which surprised me a little since I had the impression that Saturdays would normally have all restaurants filled in completely. We were just enjoying the Hong Kong skyline before the music played by Isola caught our attention. I was instantly captivated by the dim purple lighting and decor and as soon as I saw "Isola" on the menu, I was like I need to try this (I've heard of this restaurant a few times now).
We were seated almost swiftly, the restaurant wasn't too crowded, which surprised me a little since I had the impression that Saturdays would normally have all restaurants filled in completely. Anyways we ordered a Margherita pizza, lobster pasta and prime rib eye.
I however, regret to say the Margherita pizza they made wasn't even as good as the one I baked (my friends suggested). The crisp you'd expect in a pizza, the flavour were all not on point and I wish they'd done a better job having charged us around 168 for some dough which didn't even taste alright. Moving on to the lobster pasta, I personally think it was okay. It was 368. The flavour was alright but there weren’t a lot of lobster meat and the pasta wasn’t as chewy as I expected. It was a bit too hard I personally think. I've had some amazing lobster pasta at Gradini, which I definitely recommend if you fancy some awesome lobster pasta. Lastly, which brightened up my night a little, was the prime rib eye. It was good. They had cheese over the rib eye and I think that was smart as it taste really great (I personally never had cheese with beef the idea was just a bit weird to me). The meat was tender and everything you’d expect in a prime rib eye. It was only 348 and I think that was charged reasonably. However, the portion was a bit small and if you fancy a bigger portion, cheaper price and better flavour, I would always recommend Dan Ryan’s.
