Brunch is probably the most important and anticipated meal of the week~ however, the brunch at Elephant Grounds was pretty disappointing for me and my girlfriendSubpar reservation system/Not enough people....Arrived the entrance at 11:20am and wanted leave my name for reservation. Arrived the entrance at 11:20am and wanted leave my name for reservation. Wasn't approached by any staff, instead needed to go inside and asked one of the waiters if I can queue up. "Sorry, please wait outside". I was like lol You are supposed to greet me n drop my name down immediately. How would you know who is first or second if no staff is present at the entrance. Bad system or lack of staff are both the management's fault.
Subpar Food and Coffee
My gf and I ordered Eggs Benedict and Pancakes and also ginger coffee with almond milk and latte. The only decent food is Eggs Benedict, which I would give it a 7.5. The rest are a 4-5. Pancakes was alright and impressive - the tasteless strawberries and blueberries really don't help. Both coffees are very bad. Ginger coffee does have great, spicy and fresh ginger but the it lacks coffee taste. Latte also was bad cos the coffee taste were there. No bitterness, No acidic taste, simply tasteless.
Though disappointed by the quality of food n the reservation service, the environment of the restaurant is very outstanding. It was quite spacious and the tables were sternly stationed at the floor (no wobbling tables haha). Though one small thing is that the table for two was a little bit too long - I felt like there is a huge gap between me and my girlfriend.
Really hope it lives up to it's reputation. Unfortunately it is not the case.
