On Sunday, we ordered take out. As I opened up the beef and cheese hot sandwich at home, I noticed part of the toothpick that usually holds sandwiches together was poking out the top of the sandwich. I thought that was pretty dangerous, as only about 2mm's of it was visible. Halfway through the sandwich, I found the other half of the stick as I bit into it. The stick had been placed, horizontally, inside the sandwich, in a way that it couldn't be seen unless the sandwich was taken apart. Luckily
Four days later, we went there in person, during our lunch hour, to follow up. We had to explain yet again what had happened, over the phone - I don't think the manager understandood that the stick was horizontally inside the sandwich, as he told us it was 'supposed to be there'. Finally, they agreed to refund our bill from that day, and offered us a voucher for their restaurant.
Thought I'm ultimately satisfied with the outcome, I think it shouldn't have taken this much effort and explanation to get to that point, not to mention the fact that there was a 3 inch stick in my sandwich in the first place.
Disappointing, as I go there a lot, and have always found the staff very friendly and the food of a good standard.
