After a busy day, my friend often enjoy trying new places to eat food in Soho. Seeing the rather large, colorful and eyecatching Jaspas banner, we decided to try it out.We were initially seated quite near the back which seemed gloomy and rather stuffy. the waiter seemed fine seating us on the terrace, however reminded us that we had to give the table back by 8pm. it was not really an issue, as it was pretty early anyway. I believe most customers enjoy dining near the open door, so they didn't

We were initially seated quite near the back which seemed gloomy and rather stuffy. the waiter seemed fine seating us on the terrace, however reminded us that we had to give the table back by 8pm. it was not really an issue, as it was pretty early anyway. I believe most customers enjoy dining near the open door, so they didn't want to really 'waste' a good table on two college students who wouldn't be dining expensively. nevertheless, the service was normal. the staff who work in restaurants in soho are generally quite friendly.
We ordered the Chicken Nachos(around $112) and Chocolate Brownie Sundae($65), which were both great. I'm a big nacho fan and have tried ones from agave, taco loco, hk brew house, dan ryans etc. The nachos as jaspas were good. it had a good balance of meat filling, cheese, sour cream and guacamole. however you can say they 'cheated' abit as they used doritos cheese flavored chips. The nachos serving was huge, but actually in comparison to other nachos which price at around 100, its the average 'big serving' size. they even had lobster flavored nahcos, which is quite exotic. i wanted to try it, but my friend was rather turned off by it.
the sundae was quite nice, but was rather small for its price. perhaps i'm too used to seeing the huge sundaes in california pizza kitchen or ruby tuesday
the only thing i'd complain is that the dessert and the nachos came at the same time! and they forgot to gives us a spoon. so we ended up having to eat it with the fork already on our table. thankfully nachos are quite finger-food so there wasn't much mix factor.
Sitting near the open door was definitly a great experience. it was really relaxing and enjoyable to see calm evening life on the street. The nachos attracted quite some attention and some asked what dish it was since it looked quite appealing.
Overall the dining experience was nice, however it was was probably due to my friends company rather than the restaurant service itself. nevertheless it was not dispointing at all.
