I decided to meet boyfriend near his home for lunch as he suggested a new restaurant that opened lately called Lime Fish. Lime Fish serves Vietnamese/Thai food. It has a few locations throughout Hong Kong. With a retro Vietnamese design, it was fairly quiet when I arrived.
Menu is in English and Chinese. During afternoon tea session, they only offer the afternoon tea menu and that is all you have to choose from. Prices aren't expensive. Everything is under $40 and includes a drink. There is no 10% service charge during tea session. We ordered two sets to share.
Satay Chicken Sticks with Fries ($32). They stressed that they used Canadian potatoes. Not that it impressed me much as the fries were so over fried. They were oily and dried out. I've never had fries like this before. They were horrible. The satay sticks were ok but they were completely ruined by the satay sauce. Or whatever you want to call it. The sauce was sour and didn't taste like the peanut style satay sauce that I am more used to. It was way too weird and I ended up not dipping my satay into it. It just did not go well together.
Pad Thai ($37). The pad thai was cutely served on a skillet pan. But what was this BIG glob of white sugar on the side? Is this normal? I have never had it served like this. Eating this, I had huge globs of sugar crystals throughout my noodles. It was disgusting. All I could taste was sugar.
I can see why the people who live around here moved elsewhere. The food was terrible and for this price, you can get something better elsewhere in the very same mall. I won't be back.
