📍Tonkatsu HarukaA relatively new spot along Wellington street that specialises in premium tonkatsu. It’s under the same group of Tempura Jiro so quality is guaranteed. Decor is exactly the same as Jiro, simple and chic. Their lunch starts with seasonal Kyoto vegetables which is served with a mini hotpot miso dip. Then comes the show of the meal. We tried both sets including the fillet & premium loin with ground meat katsu and their PorkLoin Katsu & Pork Fillet Katsu. Would recommend the premium

A relatively new spot along Wellington street that specialises in premium tonkatsu. It’s under the same group of Tempura Jiro so quality is guaranteed. Decor is exactly the same as Jiro, simple and chic.

Their lunch starts with seasonal Kyoto vegetables which is served with a mini hotpot miso dip.

Then comes the show of the meal. We tried both sets including the fillet & premium loin with ground meat katsu and their Pork
Loin Katsu & Pork Fillet Katsu. Would recommend the premium set as the grounded meatball is great. It’s mixed with onion and the ball is damn juicy. All the pork is fried with low oil temperature so you get that pinky meat color. The batter is very very thin but is able to remain the crunch until the last bite.

They serve two type of rices. Two sauces to go with the cabbage. My personal go to is the shiso plum sauce. They also serve the same variety of sea salt as Jiro. The truffle salt is absolutely yummy.

The miso soup was tasty as well as the yuzu sorbet.

A good meal but it’s indeed quite pricey.
