Press Butter Sand is a popular souvenir brand from Tokyo. Last time when I visited Japan 🎌, I saw the shop but wasn’t able to buy their cookies because they were sold out. Hence, I was really excited when Press Butter Sands announced that it would open a store in Hong Kong’s SOGO Department Store. 👯♀️ Its little booth in SOGO looks clean and colourful. They sell two flavours there, original and green tea 🍵. Surprisingly, there was no queue at all when I visited! Given it is my first time trying,
Its little booth in SOGO looks clean and colourful. They sell two flavours there, original and green tea 🍵. Surprisingly, there was no queue at all when I visited! Given it is my first time trying, I went for its signature original Butter Cream Cookie Sandwich.
The cookies are undoubtedly tasty with a generous amount of butter cream and caramel fillings inside. The butter cream is in a fluffy texture that melts in one’s mouth 🤤. I like that they included an appropriate amount of caramel – not too much so the cookies are not too sweet. The cookies taste a bit like shortbread (guess it’s because they use A LOT OF BUTTER 🧈). Some people suggest warming the cookie sandwich in an oven before enjoying it 🔥. I did not try it that way but it sounds like a good idea. 👍🏻
The cookies are sold at $108 for 5️⃣ pieces. While they do taste good, the price is on the high side. Will I buy it again? Well… maybe not for self-consumption but with the nice paper box and wrapper, it could be a decent souvenir to give to friends. 😉
