Met up with boyfriend as he had to pick up something near by. We decided to have lunch before the pick up and came across this cheeky place called Wai Wai Wai. Or more like the different tonations of the word in Cantonese. It's definitely quirky. The whole place is designed that way right down to the napkins.During lunch, they have a lunch menu that includes a drink for $3. Menu is in English and Chinese. Instead of my usual ice lemon tea, I decided to be different and order a Taiwanese Lemon Honey. This was ok. Not too sweet and they added not only lemon slices but a slice of lime as well.
I ordered the Hainan chicken rice ($75). There was a very generous mound of rice that had an intense chicken fat flavor. The chicken was a bit on the fat side and was a bit under cooked but it tasted lovely. Moist and tender and nicely seasone.
It also came with a plate of steamed vegetables.
Boyfriend had the Green Curry Chicken Ball with Rice ($68). To boyfriend, there wasn't enough rice for the amount of curry he got. It was also a bit spicier than he anticipated but it was still good. The chicken meat was moist and tender. But he thought my choice was better.
It was quite ok. Food tasted good and place was very friendly. A nice choice in an area we are not sure what to eat.
