Tai Ping Koon was a very private looking place. Curtains covering the glass door, person opening the door, and very quiet setting. The size of the restaurant was just right, and it was not crowded. It gives you an impression of colonial era, high class dining place.People were wearing proper suits, but I think it was little over-staffed. Most of the time, they were standing between tables to serve more tea. I went there little early and waited a friend inside, but they were little rushing for me
People were wearing proper suits, but I think it was little over-staffed. Most of the time, they were standing between tables to serve more tea. I went there little early and waited a friend inside, but they were little rushing for me to order. Asking 3 times if I am ready to order when I said she is coming. Perhaps they did not understand.
We ordered two main dishes and a side. The chicken wings were famous in here. In deed they were very delicious with a strong sauce. The wings were one of the most meaty I had ever tried You can choose either 4 pieces or 8.
I chose the Ox tongue. It was my first time having it, but personally did not like it much. It was salty and seemed to be poached in a salt water. The texture was soft and chewy, but I think people would have different preference to this dish.
Another main was the fried noodle. It tasted really good, I can't stop eating! The noodles were cooked right, the sauce well blended together and the ingredients were in generous portion.
Spent 200+ per head. It was worth the experience, but the service could be better. Wish to try the huge souffle too
