The restaurant dining area is L-shaped and seating around the corner (in this establishment) meant that service was minimal (almost non-existent). However, when the staff did come around (usually bearing dishes for other tables), they were more than happy to help us out. Only thing that I found quite disappointing was the lack of social distancing. Yes, there were plastic covers between tables however, the tables were so tight together I personally don't know how useful these plastic barriers are in such scenarios. I would not say this place is suitable for children (especially young children) but it's nice for a bunch of adults to catch up.
The food itself was actually quite decent, definitely good value for it's cost. As the menu pricing was not expensive to start with, for the quality of food we got it made up for all the other issues. Without further ado, let's look at the food!
Smoked Salmon Pomelo Salad - $98
Salad was quite fresh - this was the only dish where the serving size was a bit small for it's price. Dressing was not overbearing and overall a great summer dish.
63'C Egg Black Truffle Mushroom Risotto - $98
Truffle scent was strong but the taste of truffle was covered by the mushrooms. However for this price, it is entirely acceptable and the flavour was very pleasant.
Saliva Chicken Olive Oil Spaghetti - $118
Honestly I couldn't remember the taste of this dish... So I assume it wasn't great yet it wasn't bad either. (I should really get into a habit of writing things done as I eat them for the sake of writing better reviews...)
Slow Cooked Roasted Lemon Rosemary Spring Chicken - $218
The chicken was quite moist to my surprised! It came whole and wasn't cut up - but the meat was so tender it wasn't hard to cut it up to share.
U.S. Tenderloin With Foie Gras - $268
By the time the steak arrived I was so full I only managed have a bite (purely for the sake of writing this review). Surprising enough, I actually remember what I tasted here. The steak was overcooked and a bit dry to my taste BUT, according to local standards of what is considered as "medium" in Hong Kong's social-norms, it was definitely acceptable. Living in Hong Kong for the past few years has taught me that the expectation for steak and seafood differs greatly compared to the Western world - hence it is only reasonable to review accordingly with the local norms, whilst also including my own preferences.
