Boyfriend, his sister and I were thinking what to eat for dinner when we walked by this place. It was a cha chan teng but it had these tiny plastic chairs and dangling lights like some thing from the 70s.They give you a menu in both English and Chinese with photos of the food. You order at the cashier and they give you these plastic tokens with a number. When they call your number, you pick up your own food. Just like Cafe de Coral. Except the staff seem to be all grumpy old men. It's interestin

It's interesting to note, if they see you are not Chinese, they call out the number in English.
I ordered the tofu and fish pot. It came with a big bowl of rice. Actually portions were huge. I seriously didn't finish. Taste was ok. Fish was ok. But the tofu was sour and had gone bad. I thought only one, but all of them were sour.
Mine was a set and came with a big bowl of the daily soup. Nothing special but didn't appear to have too much msg.
Boyfriend ordered the baked curry beef brisket rice. It was very spicy but curry sauce was fragrant. The brisket was super fat and just tasted like fried fat.
His sister ordered the fried rice with pineapple and chicken. Was rather oily
Cheap prices. Huge portions. I won't return.
