I stumbled on this restaurant yesterday after moving to this district not too long ago. I went in and was immediately greeted warmly by the staff. It was cloudy that day with the forecast saying it would rain. Excitedly, I ordered ramen with a side of pan-fried dumplings on the side, as I haven't had these in awhile. The table had the standard sauces that you can add to your meals, and it had a good stock of napkins too. After a few minutes in, my pan-fried dumplings arrived. It smelled awesome w
After a few minutes in, my pan-fried dumplings arrived. It smelled awesome with that authentic gyoza aroma and with those beautiful charred marks. The meat and vegetables inside were juicy and the skin wasn't crispy hard at all. I enjoy the softer ones because just biting into a hard skin just ruins my palatte. While waiting for my ramen, I noticed more and more people were coming in to the point that it became a full house. I'm glad that I came in earlier. I heard the new customers were ordering ramen, fried rice and hamburger sets.
My ramen arrived soon after and it was a big bowl. I tested the broth and it was good. Many noodle shops use overly strong broths infused with overpowerful spices that numb your tongue. I don't like those very much becauseyou can't even tell the ingredients of the broth. I get disappointed because it's not easy finding authentic ramen shops in HK. Anyway, the chili sauce wasn't spicy, bamboo shoots and seaweed were addictively good, the slice of pork melted in my mouth, and the noodles were springy. Overall, I was disappointed at it because it lacked the standard spa-egg, I wish they have this added to their selection of side dishes. But I was still full with the meal set I ordered that I'll return next week for their rice sets.
Definitely going to have their pan-fried dumplings again ! ✰✰✰✰✰
