It was a Tuesday around 21:30 and my friends and I were able to be seated immediately.We were trying to order a lot of food, but had to hurry as the waitress really made us feel rushed in making our decision.We ordered a chicken casserole, string beans with pork and black bean sauce, party chicken, cucumber in chili oil, and a cold beef dish in chili oil that I can’t remember the name and I do not have pictures of. We were trying to order a lot of food, but had to hurry as the waitress really made us feel rushed in making our decision.
We ordered a chicken casserole, string beans with pork and black bean sauce, party chicken, cucumber in chili oil, and a cold beef dish in chili oil that I can’t remember the name and I do not have pictures of.
Chicken casserole: This dish just wasn’t my favorite. The chicken tasted over cooked, the chili’s were nice and I found myself just eating the garlic cloves and chili’s out of this dish. The depth in flavor was weak so I would take the garlic and chili’s and eat them with my other dishes. Wouldn’t recommend this casserole to anybody.
Party chicken: The chicken again was a little dry. Hard to believe since it had been soaking in chili oil. Again you get the refreshing chicken and the spicy chili’s, but those are the only flavors you get.
Cucumber in chili oil: One of the better dishes as the cucumber was extremely fresh and of course as with everything else the chili’s were the other predominant flavor. Which was okay with this dish.
String beans with pork and black bean sauce: The best dish of the night. The string beans still had a nice snap to them. They were spicy, yet they still had more depth in flavor due to the pork and black bean sauce.
Just felt like most the dishes added the heat component (which I love) but didn’t have many other predominant flavors to help aid the heat.
The $3 charge is because my friend couldn’t handle the heat and needed tissue for her running nose, ha!
Overall: 6.7/10
