La Rotisserie has single-handedly made me appreciate the French… It took a lot for me to type that. As a shameless American, the only thing I ever appreciated about them was their assistance during the Revolutionary War and the Statue of Liberty which came as a gift 100yrs later and has become a beacon of freedom in America ever since. La Rotisserie has single-handedly made me appreciate the French… It took a lot for me to type that. As a shameless American, the only thing I ever appreciated about them was their assistance during the Revolutionary War and the Statue of Liberty which came as a gift 100yrs later and has become a beacon of freedom in America ever since. But that’s where my appreciation for the French ended – full stop – until now.
La Rotisserie has hands down the most moist and delicious rotisserie chicken I have had anywhere in Asia, maybe the world. But it doesn’t stop there… Their sides are amazing, their salads are amazing, their sandwiches are AMAZING (I swear they must fly those baguettes in from France daily), and their desserts look the part although I’ve yet to try them (they’ve partnered w/ a French patisserie, go figure).
If you haven’t been here, I don’t blame you. The Sheun Wan location is hiding like the French during every war since the American Revolution and the Sai Ying Pun location is no more than a month old. But, if you read this and still don’t go then you’re a terrorist, unless you’re vegetarian in which case you’re a bigger threat.
The only thing I’d change about the place is to add a rotating 3rd side dish available daily since the sautéed veggies and roast potatoes seem to be the only sides ever available. Don’t get me wrong, these two sides alone are worth the trip but a little variety wouldn’t hurt. Also, some people may knock that they don’t offer seating but I disagree; a) their new SYP location now has 3 bar stools and a 2-top cafe table and b) both locations are perfectly positioned in dense residential areas that makes this a quick, easy, affordable, and delicious option for takeaway... Why would you want stay? They're French, you know...
題外話/補充資料： 200 HKD for a whole rotisserie chicken and two massive sides... Win! 68 HKD for set lunch incl 1/4 chicken, one side (you can mix) and a soup or iced tea... Double Win!
