Purple Tomato is a friendly take-away salad shop. It is best for people who love the freshness of the greens, and at the same time are craving of some nicely cooked meat. Having worked in Central area for a while, I find there are quite a number of good salad places around, but most of them rely on their sauces a lot to make you feel like going back. Purple Tomato is perhaps one with the best quality in its grilled meat. When I come I usually struggle if I should get grilled chicken or beef that day. Both of them taste great.
Cobb Salad $82 (Grilled chicken, bacon, half-boiled egg, avocado, tomato, cucumber, crumbled blue cheese with Dijon vinaigrette)
This is my usual choice. I love avocados and tomatoes – simply the best veggie combo! Everything in the box just strike me and I have all the reasons to repeatedly come back despite its expensive price. Oh right! Except for one thing –a gentle reminder for readers – do not go for its blue cheese (they usually asks proactively, and rightly, if you really want it) if you are not a true fan of cheese (and in particular, strong cheeses like blue cheese), or else you’ll regret as it will likely harm the utility of all these fresh ingredients for you (I had such a bad experience before, do trust me!).
The staff was really friendly and let me try its new soup that day. Support!
