I've been here for dinner before, and I was quite impressed by the large variety of food offering and the attentiveness of the servers and chef. Therefore I brought my friend to try their lunch set, which turned out to be quite the opposite what I experienced the first time, in a slightly negative way.
My friend and I had been placed in the middle of the dining area, which was airy and spacious, overlooking the whole open kitchen. Both of us ordered the 14 sushis + 1 self-selected sushi (HK$738 +10%) as we felt like celebrating. As it's the first few days after HKG banning dine-in after 6pm, we were hoping that we could have a longer lunch, chat and drink to catch-up. However the chef apparently had a different idea. The whole time we felt being rushed, and the chef paid limited attention to us except for telling us the name of the sushi so softly that sometimes I need to ask twice (even thrice) for him to repeat.
Sushi in general:
- The sashimi is fresh but the culinary method was ordinary.
- The rice was too loose and the sushis always fell apart.
- The most underwhelming uni dish I've ever seen in any sushi place.
This was especially noticeable that the chef was rushing us to leave when serving the last few sushi... He didn't wait till we finish the uni before serving the mackerel oshizushi roll... resulting it falling apart and difficult to pick up.
For the self-selected sushi, I chose monkfish sushi, and I was really surprised there's no special way to present this sushi, other than placing a yuzu jam on top.
I'll definitely save my appetite and diet for some other sushi places to avoid disappointment.
