Unfortunately, the fish and chips I'd been looking forward to wasn't available, so I had the sea bass risotto, my partner had the lobster croissant, and we had an extra portion of mixed chips to share. The risotto was well-cooked, the fish was tender without having an overpowering taste, and while the croissant was slightly dry, the filling was tasty - enough that my partner could have done with more... The mixed potato/sweet potato chips were a stand-out, crispy and flavourful, and any restaurant that gives you both mayonnaise and ketchup without being asked is somewhere that knows and cares about chips!
There was a family birthday party taking place on a couple of tables at the back of the restaurant, which matched the relaxed atmosphere. As we were leaving, the manager invited us to come back for wings night some time - which we might just do.
