 I haven't been to Heichinrou for ages and my last visit was to their outlet in Causeway Bay. It was pleasant then I must admit. With my past favorable dining experience, I suppose they should be able to keep their standard. However, my recent visit to their Central outlet proved to be quite a disaster. I ordered 糖心皮蛋 as starter while waiting for my friends to arrive. The century eggs were certainly not 糖心 as its yolks are harden.  I then asked the supervisor and he said this is what we served a

 I haven't been to Heichinrou for ages and my last visit was to their outlet in Causeway Bay. It was pleasant then I must admit. With my past favorable dining experience, I suppose they should be able to keep their standard. However, my recent visit to their Central outlet proved to be quite a disaster.

I ordered 糖心皮蛋 as starter while waiting for my friends to arrive. The century eggs were certainly not 糖心 as its yolks are harden.  I then asked the supervisor and he said this is what we served and it's not supposed ot be 糖心. I showed him the menu and asked him to read it carefully and he replied: "Oh too bad I didn't know the menu said 糖心皮蛋 but this is really our version of 糖心皮蛋!"

We were seated in a room with a big and a small tables.  The table next to us ordered a dish of vegetable and they found out that they have "wire" in the dish.  They then called the waiter to complain and the staff indicated to them that he is not in the position to do anything but to return the dish to the kitchen as he is only a part-time staff at the restaurant. There was neither apologies from him to the table next to us. After a long while, the supervisor came and asked about what really happened.

Our tables left unattended the entire time. I had to go to them to ask them for refill of the tea and water and we even had to go to them to order more food and drinks. Three of us ordered two bottles of wine apart from food and with the bill amounting to more than HK$1500, did we not warrant some attention and service?

I am quite appalled that a relatively high end diner such as Heichinrou couldn't even live up to its standard in providing services and quality commensurate to the price paid.  More importantly given that this very outlet is in Central and targetting at PMEBs as well as Japanese, I really thought that they should really provide genuine good service and quality food. In reality they fell so much behind and I really do not suggest anyone to patronize this very outlet unless you really have no other choices!
