This place is located on a main road in Tsuen Wan, the restaurant has very dark windows with an old school exterior. After walking inside, you will be greeted by a dark atmosphere and there are stairs for upstairs seating. The restaurant serves the famous sizzling plate steaks which were famous in the 80s. Why it’s called the sizzling plate steakhouse, is because when they serve the meat the steak is served on a hot skillet and when they pour the black pepper or mushroom sauce over the steak in front of you. The skillet will make a sizzling sound which was really famous back in the 80s and people usually are these meals during birthdays; nowadays it’s very ordinary to order. But do bring back lots of memories.
I usually order their cream soup and the beef rib lunch set whenever I visit this place. The cream soup is thick, it’s like they put lots of cornstarch in the soup while the steak is very tender but then again it’s oily as well since they usually flash fry the beef first before grilling them. But if you are looking for a taste of traditional Hong Kong, this is a place to go. Don’t expect something fancy or a salad on the side as this is not the place for that.
