I was trying to plan a special early surprise for my mom's 60th birthday, and was fed the idea to try out a beef wellington masterclass at Bread Street Kitchen. A little backstory entails me trying out BSK with my best friend when it first opened back in about 2014/15 (from what i can remember?). We were both super excited to try out a Gordon Ramsey affair, but was left rather disappointed. Both felt it was more style, over substance. Over-hyped.
This time, I was going into it with a fresh look, a second chance - Since Chef Packham was shipped in just 9 months ago with passion, verve, energy and determination to turn the beat around! I am guessing the Masterclass was one of his initiations, so I thought, "why not"? I'm sure glad I did.
My mom had a wonderful time, got drunk, and was merry, and got her hands doughy We ended the night clutching our bellies and having a laugh with the other guests. The service was warm, attentive and wonderful. Chef Packham was hands-on, friendly, and ever so jolly. We all thoroughly enjoyed the full experience and would definitely go back for many meals to come!
Highly recommend the Masterclass to anyone looking to brush up on their cooking skills, or learn a few tricks to impress the ladies/men. If you're not as ambitious, why not head on over to have a casual but romantic date night with the hot other half, or just with a few lads or girlfriends?
