So glad it's back!

Perbacco is one of our favorite restaurants.  We've never had a bad meal, never had less than excellent service. They were closed for a while, and we worried that there was a problem. But we dropped by today and we're delighted to find them back. Their lunch "appetizers buffet" was not offered, but we think that's a good thing, as there seemed to be too much waste before.  Now the set lunch comes with soup, appetizer, and main, plus coffee or tea with fresh apple for desert For a very reasonable

Perbacco is one of our favorite restaurants.  We've never had a bad meal, never had less than excellent service. They were closed for a while, and we worried that there was a problem. But we dropped by today and we're delighted to find them back. Their lunch "appetizers buffet" was not offered, but we think that's a good thing, as there seemed to be too much waste before.  Now the set lunch comes with soup, appetizer, and main, plus coffee or tea with fresh apple for desert For a very reasonable price.  Wine by the glass is also quite reasonable and quality is far above most wines-by-the-glass. The soup came in a type of pickling jar dish, and was a delicious, rich mushroom with froth.  The appetizer of prosciutto and cantaloupe was more than generous, fresh and sweet.  I had, for the first time, a pizza. I usually order a pasta dish because theirs is fresh and perfectly al dente, and they are one of the few HK restaurants that know how to make honest-to-goodness Italian dishes. My pizza was truly one of the best I've ever had: fontina, asparagus, and truffle on a perfectly thin, crisp crust.  It was twice as big as I could eat and so took half of it home. It was almost as good tonight for dinner...  :-) My husband had lamb chops with tomatoes, potatoes and squash, and it was also without flaw.  We do really love this restaurant, especially for lunch on weekends, and the staff is attentive but not hovering. Atmosphere is clean, modern and pleasant. For those who want a drink afterward, while people watching, Perbacco also has a lovely front terrace.
