A new bakery opened in Causeway Bay, a frequent place I walk around after work before heading home. It seemed sold Taiwanese styled Western bread much like Top Pot Bakery in Prince Edward. It even looked just like Top Pot with all the black walls and lines of soft bread where many of the varieties are available for tasting. You can pretty much fill yourself up with all the samples of bread! Con is all the labels were in Chinese. No English available. They even had a cake display. Probably try th
They even had a cake display. Probably try this some time.
I bought three buns.
A garlic bun. $9. It smelled very garlicky. I had this immediately and was pretty good. It had some cheese inside as well.
White bread with Golgi berries. $18. It was pretty big and I ended up making a chicken salad sandwich out of it for dinner. Nice and soft. I liked the added dried fruit.
White bread with nuts. $19. I think they were macadamia nuts. I made this into a Parma ham sandwich and took it to work the next day for lunch. Bread was still soft and fluffy the day after. Slightly sweet. Pretty good.
I love that I get another pretty good alternative bakery in Causeway Bay. Especially since it's so hot lately, I've been making a lot of salads and sandwiches for lunch at work. But it appeared most customers were taste testing and only a small amount bought something. Hopefully, this won't deter them from providing samples in the future as the labels are only in Chinese and I don't want to buy walnuts in my bread as I don't like walnuts.
