Finally able to reserve a table after The Chairman moved to their new venue. The decor is better than before. We were tabled in an annexed room with three other tables, all speaking Putonhua. I have nothing against the mainlanders but their noise level was rather disturbing. Had we been seated in the main room, our experience would have been better. The menu was preselected. On item conspicuously absent was the Chinese soup, which we enjoyed so much in the Executive Lunch set b, ack in the days

The menu was preselected. On item conspicuously absent was the Chinese soup, which we enjoyed so much in the Executive Lunch set b, ack in the days of Kau U Fong.
Another change was the liberal use of MSG, to which my wife is sensitive. As a result, she developed a numbed tongue and I dryness of mouth afterwards. We had to drink a plentiful of Coke afterwards to overcome the effect. Those feelings were not present before.
Coming back to the food. It was as good as before, if not better. The roasted pork [Char Siew] was out of this world. The camphor charcoaled goose had a nice aroma, dry yet tender. The crab was a little smaller than before and slightly over consumed with wine.
With those disappointments, will I come back again? The quality of food outweighs the discomfort of MSG. I would if I can secure a table without too much hassle. I will try to book again, but with less urge and enthusiasm
