A weekly lunch gathering with my old friends - due to our short lunchtime we could only eat within the vicinity of the school. somehow we ended up at this bar-cum-restaurant, as attracted by its lunch menu.There were 5-6 choices of mains on offer and i picked the mushroom salad to go with a cream of tuna and corn soup. The soup was just what you would get at ordinary hong kong style soy-sauce restaurants - obviously cooked with canned cream soup, it tasted ordinary. the bread that came with it was toasted till crispy and was indeed quite nice.
My mushroom salad looked kinda messy when it was served - the chopped and sliced mushroom was put casually on top of the salad vegetables. The dressing was the sour, pre-mixed variety and was not enough for the whole portion, so i ended up eating part of the salad naked. the mushroom was hardly seasoned - and the salad was just not cold enough. i had coffee for drink - and it was average. luckily it was pipping hot and was perfect in the cold and gloomy afternoon.
this lunch cost $45 - and i would not consider coming here again, if i got to choose.
