This meal was really speical, 'cause me & my family came here to celebreate mum's birthday!!!! It's also to celebrate I got my pay rise back in Aug. SO!!! of course I'm the one who paid the bill!I specifally requested to sit next to the window, so we can see the harbour view. Unforunately, the building was renovating & lots of bamboo sticks were blocking out our view! Quite disappointing. The restaurant was decorated as Australian outback. Some beautiful boomerangs were displayed in front of the
The lobster bisque was served with a small pot with a spoon. The soup was in orange color The lobster flavor is pretty strong. It's quite creamy & velvety. If I would visit again, I'll definitely order one JUST FOR MYSELF!!!! hehehe.... Next up was salad. There are 5 different salad options on the a la carte menu. We chose one just based on the name: Wooloomooloo salad. The other options seems pretty ordinary.
The salad has char-grilled filet mignon, romaine, baby spinach, button mushrooms, cherry tomato, heart of palm and tossed with mustard vinaigrette & truffle oil. It tasted a bit sour, but the salad green tasted fresh though. I personally don't really rave about this dish. I guess it's a lesson to learn about choosing dishes just base on the fancy name. It's a steakhouse, obviously we ordered steak! Since Wooloomooloo Steakhouse serves Australia cuisine, the beef is from Australia. The rib eye was 150-day grain fed, 2-3 weeks wet aged, sourced from Grainge Farms, Gippsland, Victoria.
The rib eye was really soft, meaty & juicy, not chewy at all! It's perfect in medium raw as we ordered it. We chose horseradish cream to go with the rib eye. The rib eye was pretty big, so we have to share among ourselves. They really deserves the reputation as a steakhouse!!! I know some people don't like to eat lamb. But my whole family love it! So we ordered a lamb dish to share.
The lamb cutlets were actually pretty fatty on the side. But I love the bread & herb crust!!! Really crusty! When I cut off the fat part of the lamb cutlets, the remain lamb meat wasn't much. So even though this dish was yum, it's quite expensive. I LOVE THIS DISH!!!!! I have bad experience with squid ink pasta before. But this squid ink spaghetti is creamy & fresh, nothing like the one I ate before at I-already-forgot-where. I can taste prawn & lobster in the cream. The sauce was rich & thick enough to stick on the pasta & wouldn't just dripped off. I would definitely order this dish again if I come again.
This meal was really satisfied & hope my mum like it as well!! I saw people recommended their chocolate fondant. But we were just so full to eat dessert, so this will be on my to go list!!!
