I am proud to admit my craze for black sesame - everything tastes better with sesame, in my opinion, and therefore i still miss the green tea sesame latte at starbucks which was limited during summer, to be totally frank.I am also a fan of the chinese sesame soup, and have been on a search for the BEST in town. I have paid visits to numerous stores, ordering nothing else but sesame soup - but have been served watery soups, mysteriously grey in colour and tasted like sx*t. I have been disappointe
I am also a fan of the chinese sesame soup, and have been on a search for the BEST in town. I have paid visits to numerous stores, ordering nothing else but sesame soup - but have been served watery soups, mysteriously grey in colour and tasted like sx*t. I have been disappointed for too many times and was discouraged. until i found this store in the western district having the BEST sesame soup in town.
This shop is constantly crowded in the evening, as many come for a quick snack after dinner. After a struggle to settle down i ordered my favourite hot sesame soup with dumplings.
it was pipping hot, thick and black. The texture was not too coarse nor too smooth, with bits of sesame that annoyingly stuck on your teeth. The dumplings were chewy and the fillings were runny. Everything was perfect - there was no annoying aftertaste of almond soup, and the texture was excellent.
Stop going to the Yuen's and the Moon's and the Yuk's for sesame soup - Sam is who you should approach for the simple yet satisfying hot soup.
