Kafulin Gallery is a small little ice cream shop that serves wonderfully rich ice cream in three flavors: matcha, houjicha and milk. They have cones or cups, affogato and pretty parfaits. This time when I walked by, the whole place was decorated with foxes. Apparently, the owner had taken photos of various foxes in Shiroshi, Japan's very own fox village. Where foxes roam free. To celebrate this, they now have a limiteed time only fox themed parfait.
You have a choice of ice cream which is milk ($40) or matcha ($52). Or if you can't decide like me, twist ($48). You do wait a bit as it takes a while to prepare. What you get is a tiny little cup of their wonderfully, smooth soft serve. I love their matcha the most as it's always very strong. It's topped with a cute little fox cookie that tasted very buttery, toasted marshmallow, houjicha popcorn and a chocolate moon and cute as a button cloud. On the bottom there is some mochi and houjicha jelly. I didn't like the popcorn as it tasted a bit burnt but I know it's probably the tea that was added to flavor it. It was pretty good but I wish it was bigger.
