Hak Po Street is a street where most of the popular desserts in Mongkok are clustered together. Just to name a few, Ph* dessert, HeShe* & Next Station Dessert etc. For people like us who prefer to have desserts after dinner, we need not go around hunting for nice desserts anymore. When we reached Next Station dessert at 9pm+, it was already full of people and lines of people queuing up. When we reached Next Station dessert at 9pm+, it was already full of people and lines of people queuing up. As the turnover was quite fast, we waited for around 20 minutes before we were assigned a table.
There were boards outside and inside the shop, letting customers know what are their most hot selling items so that we are able to choose easier. Their hot selling items include lava cake with ice cream and Naploeon. As we wanted to try something more unique and suited our tastebuds, we decided to go for purple sweet potato as our theme.
Chestnut & purple sweet potato mountain - When it was being served, the presentation has already captivated me. Chestnut puree was being used to draw a long line to decorate it. It was served with vanilla ice cream, purple sweet potato paste and macaron-like at the bottom. It was a very interesting dessert. The sweetness of vanilla ice cream compliment the blandness of sweet potato nicely. As chestnut puree was quite filling, i was already full when i finished it.
Purple sweet potato waffle - I have never seen this dessert before. Purple sweet potato paste was stuffed into waffle for serving. When dipped in syrup and chocolate sauce, it was even tastier than a normal waffle. Waffle was very crispy as it was served hot. Vanilla ice cream comes with it as well.
