It seemed this restaurant had put a lot of thought in designing the place. It had a bright yellow and white design with cute bowls of rice logos throughout.

Even the take out bags had this logo.

The seats all had baskets underneath to place bags.

I was also impressed that even the pencils had the same logo design.

Ordering is through a check off type menu. It's only in Chinese. But the basis is that you choose what type of noodle of rice, how spicy you want it and a drink. They also have snacks as well. There is no 10% service charge and prices are around $50.

Taiwanese Mince Meat Rice  Bowl ($42). I chose this and didn't want it spicy but it was still a bit spicy but not too much. Portion size was a bit small for a big eater but for light eaters, the size was fine. It came with an egg that was lightly seasoned. The mince meat was nicely seasoned and savory enough without being too salty. I liked it enough. It came with a bit of pickles.

The items come with a basic drinks to choose from. I chose this: a hot monk and date tea. It was very sweet from the monk and dates used in making this tea. It didn't feel like it was made from powder.

Taiwanese Style Fried Chicken Rice Bowl ($54). Boyfriend ordered this. When it arrived, the chicken meat looked pink. We told the staff who ushered someone who appeared to be the manager. He informed us that it wasn't raw but it was the pink color from the fermented beancurd that was used to marinade the chicken. I don't know how true that is but at least neither boyfriend or I got food poisoning afterwards and I did taste  a bit of fermented beancurd flavor. The chicken was moist and the coating was delicious. Wasn't too thick but very crispy. This was much better than the mince meat so  I would suggest ordering this.

They also offer seasoning upon request. These included different types of pepper and what appeared to be seaweed flakes.

Boyfriend chose a milk bobba tea. A typical Taiwanese drink. It was not that good. Not much tea flavor and way too much milk. The bobba was hard and impossible to chew.

Three Cup Chicken Wings ($20). We also shared an appetizer of three cup chicken wings. These were served fried instead of in a braised pot like usual. A bit dry but the marinade was delicious. Loved how they fried the basil leaves as well.

An inexpensive meal with the food being alright. Though the fried chicken is the thing  to order. I would probably skip the rest. The restaurant had a really great design that I was impressed with. Few new restaurants really go all out the design. I would be back if in the area and just stick to the chicken.
