Terrace in seaside has stores in many areas within HK while I haven’t tried until now. The long queue is the main deterrent. When we checked out the new shopping mall, The Southside, the queue outside this restaurant wasn’t that bad, especially when compared to the Taiwanese restaurant nearby, and the lining up in outdoor area amidst the strong sun at Airside, so we gave it a try. The seaside brunch and the jokbal with perilla leaf and rice were the new items, so we tried. The pork knuckle was very nice and tender. The rice was less spicy that I thought, which was great.
The beef lasagna was very yummy. I bet it’s the Korean style on how to marinate the beef gave it a slightly sweeter taste, which worked the magic.
The mentaiko crab meat gimbap was nice and refreshing.
Too bad the pineapple smoothie was sold out already so we could only try 1 of the 2 signature drinks, the jeju tangerine special yoghurt. I guess it depends on the particular tangerine, as the one that we had on our yoghurt was slightly on the bitter side. I drink grapefruit juice, so it’s ok for me, while I doubted how others took it.
The waffle in the seaside brunch was the highlight of the day. The entire restaurant was filled with sweet waffle smell, which contributed to the weekend vibes and relaxing feeling. The plating was also nicely done, with the 2 blueberries on the yoghurt look like cartoon characters’ eyes. I don’t think that’s intentional while it’s cute.
The food was quickly presented and majority of the staff had been helpful and efficient.
