tried their signature brown sugar deerioca milk which is superb in flavour! how i love the texture and sweetened tapioca, indeed very unique! though i must give this overall experience a 3 out of 10, if not 2i want to explain that their long queue is surely not because they're so popular that flocks of people come queuing up at the rate of 10 persons per second, there are people yes, but people come by slowly so it's actually bearable for any normal sized business given the same store size (i'm
i want to explain that their long queue is surely not because they're so popular that flocks of people come queuing up at the rate of 10 persons per second, there are people yes, but people come by slowly so it's actually bearable for any normal sized business given the same store size (i'm pretty sure of that). hence, their line doesn't move at the same rate as the guest receiving the drink
there is one girl at the till, one guy and another girl working at the back (when i looked at them, it reminds me of the movie zootopia, Flash to be specific). when i ordered i asked if i can add ginger to the signature drink, she said "no" in the softest voice ever. i said "then i'll just have the signature one" then she said "$28", again in her lowest possible voice. then i added "oh i'd like it hot please". she ignored and gave me the ticket and pointed me to the crowd outside "wait there" without hardly any eye contact or smile. come on. i'm sure having a friendly gesture is in the book of 101 for any kind of F&B biz? apparently not haha
sadly this is not it. i was then very curious what the two persons were doing at the back. well i knew they're very slow when i paid, i saw them two chatting away happily when i placed order. but i wanted to find out what were the complicated procedures needed for them to take so long to complete an order. so i went to the side window and saw a tray of tapioca, a few tall packaged milk, a lot of cups and containers, plastic and paper cups for takeaway, etc. i saw these two staff working so slowly to a point that i'm shocked, given the massive line outside, wouldn't they want to hurry up so they can clear the queue as quickly as possible, resulting even more business and revenue?? i'm assuming no, they don't want more $$ lol. since it's not just me looking inside, there were a few other people standing around that area and naturally people would look inside as it's like a open kitchen kinda setting (and it's made of glass lol) then the girl came out and said "don't stand here and leave" in an impatient and rude manner. i quickly walked away and looked from a distance thinking "why on earth would you ask people to leave?" in my humble opinion, i think it's fair if you want to hide your business secret which is totally understandable, then don't make it in glass or window like for god's sake. if you really don't want people standing there and it's not because you don't want ppl to look but just purely don't want people there, i strongly suggest a wall sticker or hoarding that writes "standing in front of this area is prohibited"
my final word for this famous shop in tst, please have your staff work efficiently and in a friendly manner (perhaps you can pay a visit to mcdonalds, or citysuper at harbour city with loads of patronage each day, yet their staff never fail to give you a big smile and tell you to have a good day or at least say thank you. well i'm not asking you to check out peninsula, because it's simply not comparable in terms of price point) and please not rely on creating a long line up on purpose to attract customers, this doesn't work well for HK citizens if you know what i mean haha and if you don't already know, this won't get you loyalty customers, never
